by Mike - With record prices being set at nearly every classic car auction these days the car owners of the strange, incorrect, bizarre and "barn finds" are bringing their cars out to auction to strike while the iron is hot and the prices are high. The rule of "originality is king" was suspended recently at Amelia Island where RM sold an Iso Grifo that had very little in common with its original design. Despite the complete lack of originality this custom car proceeded to set a world record price for the Iso Grifo model!

by Mike - A friend and I took a drive back in 2011 to look at cars, specifically to see this Bizzarrini for sale in Oakland, California just a short drive away. This 1968 Bizzarrini GT 5300 was sold by the dealer to a new owner in Canada and it was shipped out the day before! This means that we did not get to see this car.

The definition of "concours" From the Dictionary, an exhibition or contest, esp. a parade of vintage or classic motor vehicles in which prizes are awarded for those in the best original condition.

by Mike - This Bizzarrini GT 5300 will be for sale at the Le Mans Classic 2014 auction by Artcurial Motorcars auction on 5 July 2014 at Le Mans. 1968 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada Artcurial Motorcars says, - Rare model with outstanding performance - Same owner for over 30 years - Known history - Delivered new in France, known history from new The auction company provides a detailed history description of this car but have left out the part where it was seriously crashed in the 1970s. The accident was so serious that the bumpers were sold to noted Bizzarrini historian Jack Koobs de Hartog.

by Mike - This 1968 Bizzarrini GT 5300 was sold at the Le Mans Classic 2014 auction by Artcurial Motorcars auction on 5 July 2014 at Le Mans. 1968 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada It sold for 536,400 Euros ($729,195 US) (this includes the buyers commission). The estimate was 450,000 – 550,000 Euros.
